What to Expect in Your First Private Yoga Session

Congratulations on taking the step towards a personalized yoga journey! Private yoga offers a transformative experience, tailored specifically to your needs and goals. If you're new to the world of private yoga, here's a glimpse of what to anticipate as you start your private yoga journey.

  1. Introduction Call: Prior to meeting you will have an introductory phone call. It's an opportunity for you to share your background, health concerns, goals, and expectations. This allows an initial connection between the client and instructor to check compatibility and for your instructor to confirm they can help guide you to where you want to be. Logistics will be discussed too, such as availability, location, pricing etc. Use this time to address any questions or concerns you may have.

  2. Introduction Session- You will meet with the instructor and they will guide you through a class based on your initial requests and comments made during the introduction call. The first session is really a time for the instructor to learn and evaluate you, as well as it’s a time for you to evaluate how you like the instructor.

  3. Feedback- Once the session is complete you will then share feedback on your experience. Some feedback may be shared with you such as observations or areas of opportunities that may have not been mentioned by you on the introductory phone call. Overall, if you enjoyed your experience and like your instructor your instructor will then discuss about setting up frequent times to meet so you can focus in on hitting your goals. Committing to at least a month of private yoga is recommended for noticeable results, often teachers were offer class bundles at discounted rates.

Other Considerations:

Hands on Adjustments- Private yoga is customized specifically to you and your needs. Clients love the fact that hands on adjustments is typically involved a lot more than what you would get in a studio session. However, hands on assists aren’t mandatory for a successful private yoga practice. If you're uncomfortable let your instructor know and they will honor your space.

First Session Logistics: While the introduction session is tailored based on the introductory phone call, the following sessions become increasingly customized as you and your instructor work together. Clients often find that they enjoy sessions more as they become familiar with their instructor and start to see results. For a fulfilling experience, it's beneficial to commit to at least a month of private yoga.
